The table is often referred to as the heart of the home. It is where loved ones gather to laugh and to share stories of joys, trials, and growth. It is where memories are formed and where we break bread as families and friends. And with the holidays fast approaching, we look forward to making the heart of the home extra special to celebrate life’s beautiful moments. We at Viviano Flower Shop have five helpful tips to make your table setting beautiful for the holidays.
1. Keep the centerpiece low.
Although we love grand floral pieces, the point of a dinner party is to gather with loved ones. Therefore, keep the centerpiece fairly low to see their smiling faces. Choose either a traditional long and low arrangement (see below) or choose an arrangement in a short container (like the turkey arrangement below).
2. Choose a centerpiece that compliments the room or theme of the dinner.
Uniting all elements of the party helps to create a beautiful whole. Consider the food you will be serving, the room décor, and overall theme of the gathering. What is the feeling or mood you wish to achieve?
3. Create the mood by adding warm candlelight.
Votives, taper candles, pillar candles, or a fire in the fireplace add just the right amount of warm light to make it a cozy dinner. We often add candles right into the centerpiece creating a beautiful base of flowers with a bright warm touch.
4. Consider the linens.
Choosing the right tablecloth, runner, and/or napkins is an easy way to elevate any table setting by adding pattern, color, and texture. There are even several different types of folds for napkins that can quickly make your table memorable.
5. Add accents.
Don’t be afraid to deck out your table with elements such as pumpkins, gourds, ornaments, greenery, etc. You can make each plate setting fun with charger plates, festive holiday plates, chocolates, or personalized name cards.
Whether you are gathering with many people or few, creating a beautiful table setting helps show your love and respect for those who will be in attendance and will bring bright smiles to their faces. For this Thanksgiving, Christmas, holiday season, and for all life’s celebrations, show your love through the beauty of flowers.
With Love,
